  3. Vaginal Discharge: There are many reasons you could be experiencing vaginal discharge. A majority of the time, discharge is part of the normal vaginal function; but if you are experiencing a change in color, smell or consistency, you should seek medical care, because you may be experiencing an infection.   4. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bladder infections (also called cystitis) can leave you feeling like you need to go to the bathroom almost constantly. They are usually not serious but can become serious if left untreated.AMG provider can assess your symptoms and discuss treatment options to relieve your urinary tract or bladder infection.
  5. Trichomoniasis is a STD caused by a parasite and generally transmitted through sexual encounters. The infection is also known to spread from the genitals to other parts of the body, such as the hands, mouth or anus. While symptoms can range, common symptoms can include genital irritation, pain when urinating or genital discharge. The condition can be treated with medication, when appropriate.   9. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is a skin infection that can cause painful sores near the mouth and/or genitals, depending on which type you have. While you may not be experiencing symptoms, it is still possible to spread the infection to others. If left untreated, herpes can reappear — otherwise referred to as an outbreak. Providers can conduct a physical exam of the area and collect a sample for examination. If medically necessary, your provider can provide you with a treatment recommendation, which may include a prescription. It is important to seek medical care as soon as possible to avoid further spread of the infection.
  10. Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted disease that can appear weeks or months after a sexual encounter. Gonorrhea is a common infection caused by a bacterium that can be passed between partners during sexual contact and can infect males and females. While you may not be experiencing symptoms, it is still possible to spread the infection to others. AMG providers can review the results of specimen testing, urine or blood samples that are ordered and collected to determine if you have gonorrhea or another STD and provide a treatment recommendation, which may include a prescription. Additional testing can be conducted at an extragenital site, such as the rectum or pharynx. It is important to seek medical care as soon as possible to avoid further spread of the infection.
