COVID 19 has brought in a drastic change in our normal routine. It’s fair to say that life isn’t quite what it used to be. But don’t let it take charge of your health. Your health is your priority. With everything going on around us we have become germaphobic and we don’t want to go anywhere unless we really have to. Well TeleVisits or Telehealth is the new norm. It has become the necessity of our current situation. Thanks to the latest technology where we can bring wellness right at our home. Using TeleHealth is convenient. It would be surprising to believe how even our older generation has adapted to this change.

How does TeleHealth/Telemedicine work?

  1. Choose the Provider you would like to visit. Make sure you visit their website and check what all they have to offer. Are you insured or uninsured, will they offer a cash visit?
  2. Schedule your visit. Many websites have a link to book online appointments. Depending on the provider’s webpage they can confirm your appointment via text, email, or phone call.
  3. If this is your initial visit make sure you download the link sent from your provider prior to your visit. Make sure you have good internet access. Create an account if needed. Complete the patient portal or form as required by the provider. Keep your phone or computer ready for the visit. Make sure the camera is in good working condition.
  4. Write down the things you would like to discuss with your provider. Make sure you know which pharmacy to choose to incase a medication is prescribed.
  5. During the visit keep your environment quiet to avoid any communication barrier and have good lighting.  Practice good etiquette just like you would during your office visit. This is a new norm for you and the providers. Help them to take care of your health.
  6. Last but not least if you are well pleased, spread the word to let others also take advantage of health wellness. Take a few minutes to send out a review about the visit.

TeleMedicine is offered by many different medical fields. Technology has come up so far that the provider can even assess the abnormal rhythm of your heart. This new norm brings in providers into your home than having you to go and wait hours for an appointment. Experts believe that even after the eradication of the virus from the earth, people will remain doubtful for a longer period of time. Hence, they would be in favor of scheduling a Telemedicine or virtual consultation with their doctors. This clearly indicates that even in the coming times, the craze of telemedicine apps will remain high.
